Overview
The construction of the Hong Kong – Macao Bridge connecting Hong Kong and Macao. The main bridge is about 29.6 km long, the connecting road on the Hong Kong side is 12 km, and when the connecting road on the Macau side is added, it is about 55 km, which is one of the longest bridges on the sea in the world, and construction work was carried out to lay a foundation rubble mound for an undersea tunnel connecting an artificial island and the bridge.
Method
Immersed Caisson Construction Technology
The submerged tunnel construction method is a technology to construct a tunnel, etc., at the bottom of the sea by immersing a submerged Caisson made of concrete, steel plate, etc., as a dry dock or on land. This method has the advantage of reducing the overall length of the tunnel because it is constructed by connecting artificial islands, etc., and can reduce the overburden of the tunnel.
